Open Hours & Book Sales
Book sales are hosted, and regular hours are run, by Friends of the Library of Idaho Falls in the basement of the Idaho Falls Public Library. Friends current hours of operation during the week are: Tues/Thurs 7:30p-9:00p, Wed 3:30p-6:00p, Sat 2:00p-5:00p. There are 2-day book sales held on Fridays and Saturdays with extended hours from 10:00a-5:00p. Temporary closures may affect regular hours of operation. The 2024 2-Day Book Sale dates are:
- February 9-10
- April 12-13
- August 2-3
- October 25-26
- December 6-7
Donating Materials
The Idaho Falls Public Library and Friends of the Library of Idaho Falls welcome donations of new or used books and such items as audiobooks, movies (DVDs and/or Blu-ray), music (CDs and/or vinyl), and so on. All donations to Friends of the Library of Idaho Falls are tax deductible. For instructions about dropping off donations, please call (208) 612-8460 or visit the kiosk desk by the children’s library entrance.
The Idaho Falls Public Library reserves the right to review donations and add items to the library collection. Items not added are then available for Friends of the Library of Idaho Falls for their book sales. Any individual who wishes to purchase and donate a title specifically for the library collection should speak to the library director before making the purchase.
Friends Newsletter
Friends of the Library of Idaho Falls publishes a bi-annual newsletter featuring valuable information about upcoming events related to both the Idaho Falls Public Library and Friends. The newsletters will also include information relating to Friends meetings, potential projects, and future activities or fundraisers to help promote library and community relations.

Volunteer Opportunities
Friends of the Library of Idaho Falls is based around the help of volunteered time and talents. If you would like to volunteer with the Friends, please email volunteersfriendsifpl@gmail.com or complete and return the following form:
Membership Registration
Want to become a Friend of the Library of Idaho Falls? Any individual or organization interested in supporting the Idaho Falls Public Library and Friends of the Library is eligible for membership in the Friends. Bring your ideas, maybe even a friend, with you and join the Friends as they help make a difference in the community.

Endowment Fund
The Friends of the Library of Idaho Falls Endowment Fund, established with the Idaho Community Foundation (ICF) in 2011, was created to institute a permanent income stream to support the Idaho Falls Public Library. Donors may give cash, securities, real estate, life insurance, gifts by wills, and memorial gifts. If making a significant donation and are in need of help, please contact ICF for assistance. All donations are tax deductible.
