Summer Reading at the Idaho Falls Public Library begins June 4, 2018.
“Over 30 years of studies consistently show that students who do not continue to read over the summer lose as much as three to four months of academic progress.” -Idaho Commission for Libraries.
Children’s Summer Reading
Starting June 4, sign up for Summer Reading at the Idaho Falls Public Library. Kids and parents work together to create weekly reading goals. As you reach those goals, you earn Reading Rewards coupons from local businesses and Book Bucks to buy fun things in our summer reading store. Summer reading ends August 25. Sign up at either the Idaho Falls Public Library, the Iona Library, or the Swan Valley Branch Library.
Teen Summer Reading
Starting June 4, sign up for Summer Reading at the Idaho Falls Public Library. As you read, accrue Book Buck credits in your passbook. Redeem those credits in our Prizes on Demand (POD) store or at the end-of-summer teen auction, which is scheduled for Saturday, August 25 at 6:30pm. Read any book appropriate to your reading level (except newspapers, magazines and audiobooks). Look inside your passbook for additional instructions and frequently asked questions.
Adult Summer Reading
Starting June 4, sign up for our completely redesigned adult summer reading program! Read or listen to almost any book you want (except newspapers, magazines, junior nonfiction, and intermediate readers and below). As you read, record the title, author, and number of pages in your reading log.
The first 1000 readers to read 1000 pages will receive an IFPL Summer Reading stadium mood cup.
The first 500 readers to read 1500 pages will receive a free book and an IFPL Summer Reading keychain.
The first 250 readers to read 2500 pages will receive an IFPL Summer Reading t-shirt.
