2025 Book Madness

It’s time for the 2025 Book Madness at the Idaho Falls Public Library!

To find our Book Madness program for children, visit the Children’s Book Madness page.

How It Works

Throughout the month of March, the Idaho Falls Public library will participate in Book Madness! Starting March 3rd, adults and teens can come into the library and vote for their favorite book character. Limit one ballot per day.

Use the ballot to vote for your favorite character in each bracket. Each week, we’ll count the ballots and advance the winning characters to the next round. Copies of books associated with the eliminated character will be awarded as prizes through a weekly drawing.

For the teen and adult program, if you vote for the character that wins the final bracket, you’ll be entered into a drawing for that book plus a Kindle Fire 7!

Round 3

Eliminated in round 2:

  • Anne Shirley from Anne of Green Gables by L. M. Montgomery
  • Nick Nelson from Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
  • Atticus Finch from To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee
  • Death from The Book Thief by Mark Zusak

Round 2

Eliminated in round 1:

  • Flavia de Luce from The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie by Alan Bradley
  • The Little Prince from The Little Prince by Antoine de Saint-Exupery
  • Jade Daniels from My Heart is a Chainsaw by Stephen Graham Jones
  • Baz from Carry On by Rainbow Rowell
  • Mr. Darcy from Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen
  • Harry Dresden from Storm Front by Jim Butcher
  • Hercule Poirot from The Mysterious Affair at Styles by Agatha Christie
  • Murderbot from All Systems Red by Martha Wells

Round 1

Please note that ballots do not move forward week by week, so it’s important that you return to cast new votes in the next round. Also, you don’t have to vote in every bracket, but it will increase your chances of winning.

At the end of the challenge, we’ll hold a final drawing among ballots cast for the winning character. The winner of this drawing will receive a copy of the book and a Kindle Fire tablet.
