IFPL Librarians Receive Distinguished Under 40 Awards
November 9—Beth Swenson and Mallory Snow, of the Idaho Falls Public Library, were recognized on November 9 for receiving the Greater Idaho Falls Chamber of Commerce Distinguished Under 40 award. This award is presented to young professionals in the Idaho Falls area who are committed to accomplishing great things in their careers, community, and education. Beth received the award in 2020 and Mallory received the award in 2021.
Originally born and raised in Idaho Falls, Beth returned to the community in 2015 to work as the Outreach Librarian at the Idaho Falls Public Library. Since that time, she has also worked as the Children’s Librarian and is currently the Assistant Library Director over Public Services. Prior to returning to Idaho Falls, Beth worked as a Reference Librarian at the Twin Falls Public Library. Beth received the Distinguished Under 40 award in 2020 but was not officially recognized until this week because of pandemic closures last year.
Mallory joined the Idaho Falls Public Library in 2019. Born in Michigan, she started her career in libraries in 2007 in the greater Las Vegas area. She first worked as a page, then in various young adult and adult services positions, and ultimately as a library programs and outreach specialist in the Henderson Libraries and in the Las Vegas-Clark County Library District. She currently works as the Idaho Falls Public Library’s programming specialist and volunteer and outreach coordinator for patrons of all ages in the Idaho Falls community.
