Summer Reading Auction for Teens

Teen Summer Readers! The Summer Reading Auction is coming on Saturday, August 27 at 6:30pm. The auction will be held on the north library grounds.

Starting Monday, August 22, you can bring your reading log to the 3rd floor Summer Reading desk. Volunteers and staff will tally your BookBuck Credits and assign your auction bid number. To participate in the auction, you must register by Friday, August 26, at 6:00pm.

Before You Come to Register

Before you come to the library to register for the auction, please do the following:

  • Grab your Summer Reading log book (you must have this to register).
  • Make sure your name is written on the back cover of the log book.
  • Find out how many people will be coming to the auction with you (including parents and younger siblings).

When You Visit the Library

When you visit the library to register for the auction, volunteers and staff will:

  • Complete your official registration
  • Assign your bid number
  • Give you a list of the auction items and their starting bid values
  • Give you more information about the auction rules
  • Give you information about the Bookstore and its prices

On the Day of the Auction

On the day of the auction, please note the following:

  • Teens, you need to bring everything you received when you registered.
  • Only teens can bid at the auction. Parents are welcome to attend, but must observe only.
  • You cannot combine BookBucks with anyone else.
  • If you do not want to bid on any items at the auction, you can shop the bookstore.
  • There is a limit of 1 gift card/teen at the bookstore (supplies are limited).
  • BookBuck Credits may only be redeemed on Saturday, August 27 at the auction or bookstore.
