Foundation Center Grants

The Idaho Falls Public Library now offers free resources for nonprofits and individuals seeking grants. This service is available through the Foundation Center at dedicated terminals inside the library.

The Foundation Center is the leading source of information about philanthropy worldwide. Through network partners like the Idaho Falls Public Library, it connects people who want to change the world with the grants and grantmakers who can help them succeed.

What We Offer

Foundation Center resources available to IFPL patrons inside the library:

 Conduct research on potential funding sources for your nonprofit work or artistic projects.

 Attend workshops and learn how to approach funders and write grant proposals.

 Ask librarians fundraising and other non-profit related questions.

 Find educational scholarships, fellowships, and loans.

 Find others in the community who are receiving and giving grants.

 Stay up to date on funding trends.

Online Databases

Available Foundation Center databases:

Foundation Directory Online – Access an unprecedented wealth of timely, comprehensive information on grantmakers and their grants. Database includes over 140,000 foundations, corporate giving programs, and grantmaking public charities in the U.S., over 4,000 sponsoring companies, over 3.8 million recently awarded grants; and a keyword-searchable list of over 1 million recently filed IRS forms 990 and 990-PF.

Grants to Individuals Online – List of grants and grant writing tools made specifically for individuals, students, artists, writers, etc.

Foundation Maps – A data visualization tool to see who is funding what and where the projects are located. Search millions of grants offered since 2006 and visualize funding data tailored to your research. – A learning community for the social sector, GrantSpace has easy-to-use, self-service tools and resources to help nonprofits become more viable grant applicants and build stronger, more sustainable organizations.

IFPL patrons can access these resources inside the library at computer terminals on the second floor. Ask the librarian at the second floor desk to help you log into one of these computers.
