The library loans out books, magazines, books on CD, books on cassette, DVDs, videos and music.
Any service desk in the library can help you with checking books out. To ensure proper check in we ask
that all materials be returned to a book drop location.
All staff members are ready to assist you in finding information or in
using the Library's collection. We provide help with both general and in-depth reference questions. (208) 612-8462
Library Cards - A card is needed for checking out library materials.
Cards are available to all residents of Bonneville County.
For More Information...
Loan Period - Most books are loaned for 21 days (three weeks);
New fiction books for 14 days. Videos and DVDs are loaned for 7 days.
All items except DVDs and Videos may be renewed three times if not on hold for another patron.

renew your items via our
online catalog (your card number and PIN will be needed).
Late Fees - $0.25 per day on all items.
Reference Collection - The Library has an extensive reference collection
including many encyclopedias, dictionaries, atlases, auto repair manuals, price
guides and other reference books. We also provide many licensed databases
available in the Library through remote patron access.
- The Library has subscriptions to 180+ magazines and 26 newspapers. Most
magazines are kept for two years. The current and previous month of newspapers are kept in the reading room. Magzines are also available through the state funded LiLI databases at www.lili.org
Post Register on Microfilm -
The library keeps all issues of the Post Register until the microfilm
arrives. We have microfilm copies of the Post Register and its
predecessors dating back to 1880. The library staff will perform searches in the Post Register for persons outside of Bonneville County for a fee of $5.
- Materials of local interest are kept in the Idaho Room. These materials do not check out. The Idaho Room collection consists of Books, Newspaper clippings, pamphlets, maps and the Idaho Code.
School tours and a variety of educational workshops are provided by the library staff. Please call 612-8460 if interested.
Readers Advisory - Staff at the public service desks will aid readers in selecting materials.
Books, microfilm and copies of periodical articles that the IFPL doesn't own
can be requested from other libraries. Materials can be used for the time
indicated by the loaning library, and then returned to the Idaho Falls Public
Library. There is usually no charge for this service, however, some libraries
may charge minimal fees, which are passed on to the borrowing patron.

Located on the second floor of the building, the Idaho Room houses
pamphlets, maps, newspaper clippings about Idaho and Idaho Falls, and books
pertaining to Idaho. These items may not be checked out.
Three electric carts are available to any patrons with disabilities who may find it
hard to get around in the building. The keys are in the carts which are located just inside the new south entrance.
PCs are available to access the internet. To access the internet,talk to the staff member at the second floor service desk.
Guests are allowed access for 30 minutes per day. Word processors are
also available. PC's also have Microsoft Office Suite software for report,
spreadsheet, or presentation work.
Four meeting rooms are available. The large meeting room is L shaped and will seat over 160 people. The room can be partitioned
into three smaller rooms which will easily seat 80 people in chairs. One small rooms will seat up to 15 & 20 people. Advanced reservations are necessary, and a user fee is charged.

Patrons may park in the parking lot on the south side of the building, but are limited to only two hours per day. If you will be at the library longer than
two hours, you may park across the street (east of Park Avenue) in the all day parking or southeast of the parking lot in the library overflow parking lot..
There are three book drops for your convenience - two outside the
building and one inside. The drive up book drop is located on the east side of the building in the staff parking lot next to the garage.
You do not need to leave your car to return library items if you use this book drop.
Another book drop is located next to the north entrance facing Broadway.
There is now a new bookdrop inside the lobby of the library on the first level.
